our mission: Advancing California through the
Arts & Creativity
Arts & Creativity
The California Arts Council encourages public participation in the arts; helps build strong arts organizations; assists with the professional development of arts leaders; promotes awareness of the value of the arts; and directly funds arts programs in California's communities.
The arts spark creativity . . . and our goal is to make them available to every Californian.
what is the California Arts Council?
The California Arts Council is a state agency governed by a policy-setting council appointed by the Governor and the Legislature. The 11-member Council and the agency's staff have expertise in the arts, education, community development, state and local government, and both the nonprofit and for profit creative sectors.
