Artist Call Detail2nd Annual "What Texas Means to Me" Juried Awards Show
For International artists
For more than a century, Texas has evoked strong emotions. From the early prospectors to cattle ranchers to oil barons and now - high technology- or the silicon valley of the west. It seems that no matter what part of the country people are from, Texas inspires.
Last year's inaugural show was highly popular with patrons and artists alike, drawing entries from all over Texas and as far away as Delaware and New Hampshire. This show's theme is your artistic interpretation of Texas: past, present or future.
This year's juror is Phillip Wade. He graduated from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, and received a full scholarship in the MFA Painting program at the University of Texas. Mr. Wade, a full-time artist, has exhibited in many galleries, and is in innumerable collections around the country. He currently mentors and teaches at the Austin Museum of Art.
