Call for Artists Inspired by Outsider Art
For National artists

Call for Artists
Postmark Deadline: July 26, 2010
4 Real, 4 Faux: Animating the Vernacular is a curated exhibition of self taught and academically-trained artists influenced by outsider art to be exhibited at Truman State University (tsugallery.org) in Jan/Feb 2011.

This call is for artists who are inspired by and rework the visual language of outsider art. The self taught artists will be selected from agencies that work with the disabled. By displaying the work together, the exhibition will highlight the use of the vernacular in fine art and confront the limitations of categorization.

The gallery will cover some, and possibly all, of shipping expenses.

Submit: CD-ROM with 10-20 jpegs, statement, shipping costs, resume, and contact info. Materials will not be returned unless SASE is included.
