Artist Call DetailPublic Mural along SPRINTER Corridor
For Southern CA artists
The City of Vista's Public Arts Commission is pleased to announce a Call for Artists for a mural to be located along the Sprinter Corridor, south of the Mar Vista Drive crossing, at the eastern entrance to the City.
The selected mural will be painted on ten Dibond panels that will be attached to a wall. Each panel is 4 feet by 10 feet for a total of 400 square feet. The chosen artist will receive compensation of $6,700.
The theme for the mural is "Welcome to Vista." Suggestions for possible subject matters are the depiction of Vista's history, climate, cultural arts, and/or recreational opportunities. SDG&E has made the donation to sponsor this mural and SDG&E's corporate logo is to be included within the mural in a 2-foot by 10-foot banner.
Digital submissions are encouraged, but not required. Renderings should be submitted on an 8½-inch by 11-inch sheet of paper. Submissions should represent the scale of the Dibond panels. Digital submissions must be in .jpg format with a file size not to exceed 1 megabyte per image. There is a limit of 6 images per e-mail. CDs or photo images of the artist's previous work are encouraged. Please submit all digital images to Bill Fortmueller at email@example.com.
Please submit non-digital proposals to:
