Artist Call DetailBay Area Abstract Show
For Northern CA artists
American Steel Studios is excited to invite Bay Area artists to apply for entry in our first Bay Area Abstract show! Non-objective (abstract) work in all 2-D and 3-D media will be considered. This will be a two-day show, including being a part of the city-wide first Friday Art Murmur, and a Saturday show that will include artist talks and tours. All artists accepted to the show will also be given the opportunity for an artist's talk, and artists may keep 100% of sales made during the show.
Given the size of our gallery space, artists will have the opportunity to show several pieces each in a show that feels curated rather than crowded. Large-scale abstract work and installations are accepted. However, due to the short duration of the show, all work must be able to be installed and de-installed within two days before and after the show.
To enter, please email at least four and no more than eight images of recent work that you would like to include in the show to AmSteelAbstract@gmail.com by Sept. 27, 2015. Also include any supporting documentation (artist statement and CV) in the body of the email.
American Steel Studios is one of the largest artist communities in the Bay Area, housing over 150 artists working in everything from paint and printing to a great variety of very large-scale projects. Housed in a converted steel mill, we have an 8500 square foot gallery, and in addition to monthly Art Murmur exhibits, we have hosted many large events, including Burning Man Pre-compression and Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf's Inaugural Celebration, often drawing thousands of attendees. http://www.americansteelstudios.com
