Artist Call DetailLos Altos Public Art Search 2015
For National artists
A residential community in the heart of Silicon Valley, Los Altos is the birthplace of Steve Jobs and Apple Computer and home to many of the region’s tech industry leaders. The city showcases art from around the world in its downtown streets and parks and is currently looking to display new works representing a variety of media, including sculpture, mosaics, electronic and interactive art, and other forms of visual expression. Special consideration is given to art that reflects the city’s agricultural past and/or the community’s current ties to developments in technology.
About the Public Art Loan Program
Artists whose work is selected for inclusion receive a $1,000 stipend to help defray costs.
Both the artists and their work will be promoted through local newspapers, on the city’s website, and in a citywide Arts Tour brochure. All selected work will be on loan for a period of two years.
Sculptures may have bases measuring from 3’ x 3’ to 6’ x 6’. Other installations will need to fit within the constraints of the selected venues, leaving adequate space for pedestrian and bicycle traffic.
