2017 Portland Winter Light Festival
For Western States artists

Combining art, science and technology, community and fun, the Portland Winter Light Festival (PWLF) is Portland’s premier winter arts & cultural event that transforms, illuminates and animates Portland's nighttime urban landscape in the month of February. Inspired by light festivals around the world, PWLF showcases unique light-based art, community installations and performance, engages Portland's diverse communities, and creates critical opportunities for artists, designers, creatives, makers and performers to collectively expand the boundaries of art, performance and technology innovations in our region. Hosted at OMSI, this free, 4-day Festival takes place just north of Portland’s Tilikum Crossing along the east bank of the Willamette River as well as other select locations throughout the city. PWLF welcomes artists, designers, creatives, makers and performers to submit innovative proposals for light-based sculpture, interactive installations, projections, fire art, and performance.

The theme this year is: Between the River and the Stars
