Grant Detail

*Muhammad Ali Center Peace Garden Grant
National Gardening Association and Yum! Brands Foundation

The Muhammad Ali Center Peace Garden recognizes and supports youth gardening programs focused on peace and hunger awareness in the United States and around the world. Through winning programs, students will learn the value of nutrient rich foods for a healthy lifestyle, while gaining an awareness of global hunger and the importance of peace as a member of the global community.

To be eligible for the Muhammad Ali Center Peace Garden, your school or organization must plan to garden the following year with at least 15 children between the ages of 3 and 18. Schools within the United States must have a student body eligible for 50% or more reduced or free lunches. This is a global initiative; all International countries and territories are eligible to apply. The selection of winners is based on the demonstrated relationship between the garden program and peace studies, and nutrition and hunger issues.
