Alexia Foundation Invites Student Submissions for Photography and Multimedia Competition

The Alexia Foundation provides educational opportunities and cash grants to help students produce work that share the foundation’s goals of promoting world peace and cultural understanding.

To that end, the foundation is accepting student submissions of still photography and multimedia projects that explore cultural understanding in or near the applicant’s local community. Prizes will be awarded in both undergraduate and graduate categories.

Undergraduate prizes include a first-place award that includes full tuition for study at the Syracuse University London Program for the Fall 2015 semester, a $1,000 grant to help produce the proposed body of work, and $500 for the student’s academic department; a second-place award that includes half tuition for study at the SU London Program and a $500 cash grant to help produce the proposed picture story or multimedia project; and one or more award(s) of excellence that include grants of $1,500 to be used for tuition at the SU London Program and a $500 cash grant to help produce the proposed photo story or multimedia project.

Graduate prizes include a first-place award that includes tuition for two SU London Program classes and program fees up to a maximum of $15,000, plus a $1,000 grant to help produce the proposed photo story and $500 for the student’s academic department; a second-place award that includes tuition for two classes at the SU London Program and a $500 grant to help produce the proposed photo story or multimedia project; and one or more award(s) of excellence that include $1,500 to be used for tuition at the SU London Program and $500 to help produce the proposed photo story or multimedia project.

To be eligible, applicants must be enrolled as full-time graduate or undergraduate students in an accredited college or university in the United States or abroad in the spring of 2015. No student who has completed more than three internships or one year of full-time professional experience is eligible.
