CEC Artslink Invites Applications for 2016 Artist Residencies
CEC Artslink

CEC Artslink is accepting applications from contemporary artists and arts managers working in visual and media arts for its 2016 Artslink Residency program.

The program provides a five-week residency at an established nonprofit arts organization in the United States to artists and arts managers from eligible overseas countries. The program is designed to create opportunities for artists and communities across the U.S. to share artistic practices with artists and arts managers from abroad and engage in dialogue that advances understanding across cultures.

ArtsLink Residencies allows artists and arts managers from eligible countries to pursue artistic and/or professional collaborations that will enrich and enhance their work; share ideas and expertise with U.S. artists,  organizations,  residents of the broader host community, and colleagues from the region who participate in the program; expand their knowledge of arts practice and deepen their understanding of cultural life in the U.S.; create new work that draws inspiration from interaction with artists and arts professionals within the U.S. host community; and expand their professional arts management skills through work with U.S. organizations.

Applicants must be citizens of, and currently reside in, an eligible country. Would-be applicants living outside the region temporarily should contact ArtsLink staff to determine their eligibility. There are no age limitations. Applicants must have sufficient knowledge of English to function independently while in the U.S.

Undergraduate students, amateurs, and research scholars are not eligible to apply. Arts managers must be affiliated with an arts organization in the non-commercial sector. Artists seeking placement in commercial firms are also ineligible, as are ArtsLink Fellows from prior years.

For complete program guidelines, information about  artists who have participated in the program, and application procedures, see the CEC Artslink website.
