Associate Director Job Announcement

At Arte Américas, we are committed to making the Central Valley a flourishing place for Latino arts and culture.  We are the largest Latino cultural arts organization in Central California and we have been serving our community for over 30 years.  We seek a highly organized and efficient individual for an Associate Director position.  The Associate Director will work under the supervision of the board finance committee and support our Executive Director.  The Associate Director will be tasked primarily with overseeing finances, development, and daily operations of our cultural center.

The selected individual must be able to exercise judgment, resourcefulness, interpersonal skills, and be part of a team that relies on many volunteers. Our ideal candidate is someone with a background in the arts and non-profit organizations, with significant fund development experience. The position is exempt, full-time, and based in Fresno, California.


  • Works with the board and executive director to implement vision, strategic plan, and budget
  • Oversees volunteer staff and student interns in maintaining the operations and schedule of the center and assists in recruiting additional volunteers.
  • Oversees expenditure of funds in accordance with the budget set by board of directors.
  • Researches and prepares grant applications that meet our mission and strategic plan
  • Assists with donor cultivation and development of promotional materials and marketing strategies.

Desired Qualifications

A minimum 4-year college degree in the arts or a related field. Although we seek someone with a high degree of qualifications, we will consider someone with a good combination of these skills and experience in the beginning stage of their career.

Experience in the arts, especially as a practicing artist, musician, dancer or curator.

Experience in financial management, accounting, grant writing, grants management, and/or fundraising.

Management and supervisorial experience.

Experience with non-profits

Organized and familiar with technology and social media

Bilingual English/Spanish, speaking and writing skills


Commensurate with qualification and experience.
