Development Director
East Bay Performing Arts

JOB TITLE:  Development Director

REPORTS TO: Executive Director

SUPERVISES: Development Manager, Development Associate

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for planning and managing a comprehensive, synergistic and strategic fundraising program to meet the organization's contributed revenue goals, of $1.5 million for 2013-14. 

Responsible for grant applications to government agencies, private foundations and corporations that provide funding for performing arts and music education, as well as reports to grantors. Work with the Executive Director and Board to build a development program that exhibits the highest standards of professionalism and effectiveness.

East Bay Performing Arts is comprised of the Oakland East Bay Symphony, Oakland Symphony Chorus and Oakland Youth Orchestra, three programs with a shared mission to provide leadership in music excellence, education and community outreach in the East Bay. REQUIREMENTS:

The successful candidate will have a BA and at least 5 years fundraising experience for non-profit organizations with a proven record of success, performing arts experience a plus.  Required qualities include: integrity; commitment to a high level of service; self-starter mentality; effective management skills; ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize; excellent writing, verbal and interpersonal skills; effective interaction with diverse constituencies.
