Marketing & Development Manager
The Walden School

The Walden School (www.waldenschool.org) seeks a full-time Marketing & Development Manager to join our national organization’s San Francisco-based administrative team and support the School’s fundraising and recruitment efforts. The Marketing & Development Manager works closely with the Director of Marketing & Development, and is an integral part of the fundraising and recruiting team at Walden. This position requires a strong understanding of fundraising practices and principles, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to be flexible, take initiative, and work collaboratively.
 
The ideal candidate is extremely organized, detail-oriented, has outstanding communication skills (including in email/online, written, telephone, and in-person formats), is personable, and results-driven. This position requires being comfortable in a small, collaborative office environment that is fast-paced and high-output. Also required is a sense of humor and flexibility, quick learning, and someone who takes initiative. Must be able to work largely independently, with input and direction from the Director of Marketing & Development, and the Executive Director. Personal qualities of the successful candidate will include resourcefulness, creative thinking, integrity, warmth, discretion, and responsibility. 
 
Candidates should be excited by Walden’s mission and programs. An interest in music, music education, youth development or another related field is desirable. Previous development, fundraising and/or marketing experience is required.

Qualifications:
Successful candidates must have received a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Proficiency with Windows, MS Office, internet browsers, and other current applications is essential. Familiarity with Microsoft Access, Constant Contact, and WordPress are preferred. Preference will also be given to candidates who can demonstrate a track record of successful fundraising and/or marketing campaigns. 
Customary Schedule:
  • Monday – Friday, business hours
  • Nights and weekends sometimes required
Compensation: salary, full-time, exempt DOE
 
Benefits: paid sick and vacation time
 
Position requires sitting, working at a computer/using the telephone 80% of the time and lifting 25 pounds on a regular basis
