Youth/Young Adult Double Bass Instructor
East Bay Center for the Performing Arts


East Bay Center for the Performing Arts is currently recruiting for an experienced Double Bass Instructor who specializes in jazz ensemble music and or classical chamber music. Facility with electric bass is helpful but not required.

Job Description Summary

East Bay Center Faculty carries the mission of the Center to ignite the imaginations of young people through the performing arts. Faculty is directly responsible for developing and implementing individual and group lessons as well as advancing the overall music curriculum at the Center in collaboration with the Artistic Director and other Faculty members.  She/he will be responsible for maintaining the quality of our programs, developing strong relationships with our students and contributing to the mission of the organization.

Requirements for the position include a demonstrably strong background in and working knowledge of classical and or jazz music. A BA or equivalent professional experience is required. A Masters degree or equivalent in performance and or teaching experience is preferred with at least three years of experience teaching youth ages 12-17. A commitment to equitable access to music training opportunities for all youth is strongly preferred, as is a sense of humor, stamina and dedication to the role of the arts in social justice, youth and community development. Beginning Compensation

$35/hour for individual lessons and $41/hour for group class instruction. Additional prep and curriculum development by arrangement.
