Western National Parks Association (WNPA) seeks a part-time Assistant Park Store Manager to assist with the grand opening of our new retail store at San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park in April 2015!
Our new assistant manager will uphold WNPA’s mission to create advocates for national parks and will require an innovative approach to blending a traditional retail experience with relevant park stories, emphasizing visitor education through a retail experience.
Responsibilities will include assisting the store manager with driving sales, ordering stock and displaying products; assisting customers with product selections; assisting the store manager and staff with inventory; assisting with the coordination of scheduling and other supervisory duties; handling cash
Required Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED; prior retail experience to include operating a POS system and credit card machines, handling money and making change; ability to lift/pull up to 50 lbs; must be able to pass a background check for access to federal data networks; current driver’s license and proof of auto insurance coverage
Compensation: $14.40/hour, plus retirement plan benefit with a generous employer match after one year of service; store discount and uniform allowance
Schedule: Must be available for weekend work. Schedule is 3 days per week; core hours at the store are 9:15 AM to 6:15 PM. Must be available to work a flexible schedule for evening and/or special events. Additional seasonal hours are available in summer months (especially July/August).
