The Director of ODC Theater is the chief artistic and executive leader of the presenting venue on ODC’s two-building campus in the heart of San Francisco. S/he manages the human and financial resources to fulfill the Theater’s goals for artistic success, financial stability, audience engagement, artist mentorship and artistic community service. S/he reports to the Executive Director and Founder/Artistic Director, interacts with the Board of Directors, supervises the F/T Operations Manager and contracts programmatic positions.
The Director is responsible and accountable for all operational aspects of the Theater: planning, artistic programming, fundraising, operations/administration, marketing, public relations, education, production, budgeting and financial management. Working with Theater staff, shared essential services among ODC staff, and the Board, s/he ensures that the Theater achieves its goals for earned and contributed income.
S/he provides leadership for the development of the organization and the enrichment of contemporary performing arts in the Bay Area. S/he ensures that ODC staff and the Board has the information needed to adopt progressive and practical strategic operating plans for the Theater. S/he provides support for fundraising efforts and is engaged in donor cultivation.
The Director also runs ODC’s Resident Artist Program, including mentorship, production/performance support and fundraising for individual artists.
