Digital Marketing Manager

San Francisco, CA

Status: Full Time, exempt

Reports to: Director of Marketing and Communications

ODC is a groundbreaking contemporary arts institution with longstanding roots in the San Francisco community. Through its company, school and theater, ODC is dedicated to the lifecycle of the artistic process. Known nationally for its diverse and inclusive programming, ODC's mission is to inspire audiences, cultivate artists, engage community, and foster diversity and inclusion through dance.

DIGITAL MARKETING MANAGER is responsible for managing the development and execution of digital marketing strategies and campaigns for ODC. Campaign success is defined by ticket and class sales, audience and community expansion, web traffic, and digital engagement.


Digital Campaign Strategy and Execution

  • Direct targeted strategy for digital channels

  • Oversee content curation and create editorial calendars

  • Collaborate with department heads on marketing for key initiatives

  • Continually educate themselves on current trends in digital marketing and be aware of new tools and platforms

Data Analysis

  • Analyze efficacy of digital marketing efforts

  • Present digital marketing analytics report to key executives

  • Set and reach benchmarks for online audience growth

Content Creation and Management

  • Direct creation of original video content to increase reach

  • Apply information from data analytics to segment audiences and tailor marketing messages

  • Manage digital assets inventory 

Audience Development

  • Launch new initiatives to broaden audience reach

  • Collaborate with partner organizations to reach new audiences

  • Stay informed of changing landscape of digital communication, ticket sales, audience cultivation, and industry best practices 


  • B.A. or B.S. degree in English, Arts Administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university. Master's degree preferred

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in marketing with preference given to arts or nonprofit marketing experience

  • Strong analytical abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication

  • Ability to direct projects and oversee team collaboration

  • Experience in developing successful email and social media campaigns

  • High level video production and photography skills

  • Ability to craft compelling marketing copy for digital channels

  • Experience in website maintenance, design and management

  • Strong familiarity with Salesforce, Photoshop and MindBody

  • Experience with Facebook and Google advertising platforms

  • Experience with Drupal CMS

  • Excellent project and team management skills

  • Passion for the arts/dance and/or experience working in an arts organization a plus

Technical Skills

Candidate should have knowledge of the following computer programs and databases

  • SalesForce/PatronManager

  • Google Suite

  • Microsoft Office

  • Drupal CMS

  • Adobe Photoshop and InDesign

  • MindBody

  • iMovie & Sony Vegas

  • TRG

Compensation and Benefits
Nonprofit salary, commensurate with experience. As a dance organization committed to physical well being, ODC’s benefits package currently includes health, vision and dental coverage for full time employees, two weeks paid vacation, sick leave, free dance classes, and a dynamic work environment.
