The plate is $50 for standard lettering/numbering (DMV randomly chooses), or a personalized plate for $90 (the car owner chooses the lettering). Annual renewal fees are $40 for standard and $70 for personalized plates.

Simply print out the application form, fill it out, and mail it with your check to:

If possible, we strongly encourage the use of the DMV’s update online service, especially for personalized plates.  The DMV allows car owners to instantly check and see if their chosen lettering/numbering is available through the online service.
