Sixty-one organizations receive Creating Public Value grants for 2007-08

Sixty-one organizations in California received funding through the Creating Public Value program from the California Arts Council, a grant program for organizations that work to provide a benefit to their communities through the arts.

Artists Dominate the 2008 "California Hall of Fame"

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and First Lady Maria Shriver announced the 2008 inductees to The California Museum's California Hall of Fame on May 28. Included in the list are numerous California artists who have contributed to the state's cultural legacy. Eight of the 12 individuals named are visual or performing artists.
