California arts organizations receive funding to present free or discounted musical performances; one-time program available from joint Arts Council-Dept. of Justice program

The California Arts Council and the California Attorney General's Office announced in October that 42 performing arts organizations throughout California received grant funding for music performances in 2009 and 2010 from a one-time music presenting program. Funding for the program was available as part of an antitrust settlement with major music-distribution companies and national retail chains.

Keep on Celebrating Arts & Humanities Month

Arts lovers throughout California celebrated California Arts Day on Friday October 2, but that artistic feeling hasn't disappeared in the Golden State.
