Change of Venue for California Poetry Out Loud State Finals on Monday, March 21, to the East End Complex Auditorium at 1500 Capitol Avenue
IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR POETRY OUT LOUD: The Second and Third Round of the California Poetry Out Loud State Finals on Monday, March 21, 2011, have been moved to the East End Complex Auditorium at 1500 Capitol Avenue in downtown Sacramento, across the street from Capitol Park. The move from the Senate Chamber comes as the Legislature deals with complex budget negotiations.
California's "Tax Check-Off for the Arts" makes strong early showing
When the California Arts Council staff checked how the volunteer contributions to the Arts Council Fund through Californians' individual tax returns were doing, they were pleasantly surprised. Over three thousand Californians gave a portion of their state tax returns to support arts and arts education statewide, totaling over $25,000.
