The peer review panel of the Artists in Schools program will take place on May 16-19, 2011 and may be observed by members of the public at the California Arts Council offices, 1300 "I" Street, Suite 930, Sacramento, CA 95814. 

The Artists in Schools program integrates community arts resources--professional artists and arts organizations--into a comprehensive, standards-based program, underscoring the critical role the arts play in shaping a student's overall well-being and academic achievement.

The Ojai Music Festival and Education doesn't just benefit the community with public performances during June's festival time, it does so throughout the year through Bravo!, a well-recognized artist-in-residence program that dramatically impacts kids, whether they be challenged academically or by mental health or behavioral issues. The California Arts Council is seeking a new Director. The Director is a key member of the Arts Council's executive management team, reporting directly to the Chair and Members of the Council. This position is an exempt state position appointed by the Council, and the position is open until filled.
