Arts organizations and artists can end up in serious crises, from medical emergencies and sudden loss of leadership to theft or IT crashes. A consortium of arts-related organizations are researching how to help. Arts & early development webinar Apr 17: NEA, Head Start

Two federal agencies will present a public webinar on the importance of the arts in early childhood development on April 17, 2013, and the public is invited to participate. Artwork submissions sought by SoCal Senator

Each year state Senators highlight artists from their districts in the state Senate art show. A staffer from Senator Bob Huff's office reached out to tell the California ArtBeat that his office is seeking submissions from artists in his district, which covers portions of Los Angeles, Orange and San Bernardino Counties. See Yo-Yo Ma's arts-policy lecture online April 8

When Yo-Yo Ma takes the stage on Monday April 8 for the Nancy Hanks Lecture for arts public policy, there will be hundreds in the audience ... and potentially thousands watching online at the Americans for the Arts YouTube Channel, starting at 3:30 p.m. Pacific (6:30 p.m. in DC). A moderated chat with Ma on Tuesday will take place at 7:30 a.m. (10:30 a.m. in DC) as well.
