CA schools join President Obama's 'Turnaround Arts' program

The California Arts Council is the proud founding sponsor for Turnaround Arts CA -- a program using arts education strategies to significantly improve ten of California's lowest performing elementary schools. The Council invested $300,000 in the launch of this powerful arts education initiative, using one-time funds generously provided by the California State Assembly.  MORE >>

State-Local Partnership Program Applications Now Available

The State-Local Partnership Program application is now available on the California Arts Council website. The deadline for submission is Friday, June 20, 2014. Only local arts agencies designated by a county board of supervisors to serve the county's citizens in partnership with the California Arts Council are eligible to apply. Seeking Organizations for Arts-in-Corrections Pilot

In partnership with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, the California Arts Council has released a request-for-proposals (RFP) for Arts-in-Corrections Coordinating Organizations -- nonprofits and others that can appropriately coordinate artist personnel for a new Arts-in-Corrections pilot program.
