Blog: A Heartfelt Thank You

Spring is panel season at the California Arts Council, and as of June 3rd, spring has given way to summer and panel season has officially come to an end!

Over the course of the past three months, the California Arts Council has held 14 peer review panels to rank almost 1,000 applications to the Council's grant programs. 64 panelists traveled to Sacramento from across the state, a group of individuals that included renowned scholars, educators, arts managers, and consultants, National Heritage Fellows, and exceptionally talented musicians, dancers, theatre practitioners, visual artists, street muralists, media artists, and poets.

Council Meeting: Next Week in Richmond

The Arts Council will meet on Thursday, June 16, at the East Bay Center for the Performing Arts located at 339 11th St, Richmond, CA 94801. View the meeting agenda at this link. The public is invited to attend and address the Council during the public comment period. 

New Resources for Integrating the Arts and Everyday Life

Creating Connection -- a nationwide consortium of arts stakeholders including the California Arts Council -- is offering free access to a number of tools and resources for integrating creative expression and experiences into everyday life. In addition to guides for identifying and engaging stakeholders, for communicating with broad and diverse constituencies, and for assessing and updating programming, the website features research on building public will for the arts.
