Poetry Out Loud State Finals on March 18&19 in Sacramento

The 13th annual California Poetry Out Loud State Finals are coming to Sacramento! On March 18 and 19, the competition will bring together teen champions from 46 of California's 58 counties for two days of poetry recitation, with one winner chosen to represent California at the finals in Washington, D.C. An initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts, administered by the California Arts Council, Poetry Out Loud helps students master public speaking skills, build self-confidence, and learn about literary history and contemporary life. Opportunity: Arts in Corrections RFP

The California Arts Council is now accepting proposals from arts organizations interested in providing arts programming to inmates at state adult correctional facilities. A Q&A document featuring public questions and responses is now available on the Arts in Corrections webpage. The final deadline for proposals is March 26 at 5:00 p.m. PST.
