CA Humanities offers grant focus area for disaster recovery

California Humanities has designated a new focus area for its public humanities grant program Humanities for All. With Second Responders: The Humanities in the Aftermath of Natural Disasters, California Humanities wants to assist California communities in recovering and healing from natural disasters (such as wildfires, floods, and mudslides) and raise awareness on the part of all Californians about the challenges affected individuals and communities face through public humanities programming. Eligible projects will focus around the collection, sharing, and discussion of stories and experiences of community members affected by recent natural disasters. This designation is available for upcoming grant applications, starting with the summer 2019 round of Humanities for All Project Grants, now accepting applications.
