Arts in Corrections: Coordinating Organizations RFP

The California Arts Council is currently accepting proposals from organizations interested in providing arts services promoting healing and well-being as part of California's Arts in Corrections (AIC) program. We want YOU to become our newest Coordinating Organization! In a conscious effort to simplify the submission process and increase access, equity, and inclusion among interested arts organizations, the RFP includes plain-language templated forms, instructions, and a video tutorial for submission guidance. Register for our upcoming webinar on March 5 to learn more. Submissions are due on or before April 20. 

Board of Education draft Arts Framework seeks public comment

The California Department of Education is currently developing the California Arts Framework for Public Schools to incorporate and support the California Arts Standards for Public Schools, adopted by the State Board of Education in January 2019. Members of the public are invited to submit comments on the draft through March 30, 2020, at 2 p.m., via email to vapa@cde.ca.gov. 2020 Otis Report on the Creative Economy

The Otis College of Art and Design has released its 2020 Creative Economy report, examining the ways in which creative industries are key drivers for the larger economies of California, Los Angeles, and the other regions of the state. The report is recognized throughout the state and around the world as a key piece of evidence that creativity is an engine for economic activity, specifically, $650.3 billion in annual output in California. This year's Report offers two special spotlights, focusing on the gig economy and education in the arts. Get this year's key facts and read the full report here.
