At the arts council
A Message from Donn Harris
Council Meeting: December 2nd in Redding
Dear Northern Counties Friends and Partners:
The California Arts Council is excited to hold our quarterly meeting in Redding at Old City Hall, 1313 Market Street on Dec. 2.
The meeting will begin at noon in order to accommodate the travel schedules of our members. We have an agenda that is centered on the region and will include a couple of performances from local artists, as well as time in the gallery and other spaces within the complex.
There is a panel discussion at 3pm regarding the issues faced by rural arts organizations. If you are making a long trip to come down to join us, I want to tell you how much we appreciate the effort. We have scheduled two public comment sessions to be sure we hear from you. We do limit comments to two minutes per speaker if we need to - a great opportunity to hone your message!
Thanks to Debra Lucero, executive director of Shasta County Arts Council, for hosting and also for helping us with a Dec. 3 morning tour of local arts spaces.
Since becoming chair in January 2015, it has been my express goal to get out into the field and experience directly the way the local arts scenes affect your work, and to see how we can support you in any way possible.
Please do not hesitate to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org prior to Dec. 2 if you have any questions. I have visited all the northern counties as a backpacker and tourist, and I look forward to seeing things from the artistic perspective. And again, we so appreciate the efforts you will make to join us.
