The Humboldt Arts Council is pleased to announce a call for entries for The Northwest Eye, a regional fine art photography competition and exhibition in the William Thonson Gallery at the Morris Graves Museum of Art. Photographers residing in the Pacific Northwest, which includes Northern California (San Francisco and up), Oregon, Washington, British Colombia, Yukon Territory and Alaska, are invited to enter this juried show. The show will run from November 4, 2017 to December, 31 2017.
The entry fee is $15 for each entry, limited to four entries per photographer. Acceptable photographs must be unframed with white or off-white window mats and can be black and white, color, digital, silver or non-silver process, or Polaroid. The total size of each piece, including mat, should be no larger than 16” x 20”.
All entries will be judged by Dennis High, the Executive Director/Curator of the Center for Photographic for over 17 years. He will be picking accepted entries as well as awarding a grand prize of $1,000 and five Best of Show Awards for $250 each.
All accepted art work must be received at the Morris Graves Museum of Art between by October 27th, by 5pm If a print must be shipped it must be delivered with self-addressed and pre-paid return packaging. If return shipping insurance is desired, a pre-paid insurance form must be included with your submission. The Humboldt Arts Council is not responsible for prints damaged in transit due to inadequate or insufficient packaging.
