Program Manager, iCadenza

Overview of Position

The ideal candidate for this position is a visionary, creative, and highly entrepreneurial individual, with a background in music performance and education. We are looking for a team member who will partner with us on growing and managing our most promising new initiative – an online education platform and community designed to support university music students and alumni across the US and beyond. The role involves business development (sales/product evolution), content creation, community management, career advising, and administration. This role will report to and work in close partnership with the CEO of iCadenza.


Business Development/Relationship Management

  • Lead sales effort
  • Work with CEO to determine bi-annual goals and milestones
  • Become well-versed in the sales process and able to train others in it
  • Develop strategies for nurturing partner relationships and engaging dormant leads
  • Develop the positioning and marketing of this initiative for both universities and individual users

Content Development

  • Work with team and institutional partners to define content roadmap
  • Identify topics to cover and appropriate guest contributors
  • Project manage content development process
  • Negotiate content agreements
  • Create promotional plan for each new content launch


  • Provide coaching to musicians within the iCadenza community
  • Develop training materials and guidelines for future coaches
  • Staff the coaching team as scale demands

Community Engagement

  • Participate in the Facebook group and develop strategies for enhancing community engagement through engagement and programming
  • Pursue strategies to engage less active users
  • Work with Content Strategist to plan newsletters and other communications

Website Design, Marketing, and Analytics

  • Manage a user base of over 500 users
  • Use insights and analytics to identify relevant market demand, and develop go-to-market strategies for products and programs
  • Use website analytics tools for both marketing and user experience purposes


  • Oversee contracts and renewals process
  • Determine staffing needs and work with CEO on expanding the team as needed
  • Contribute to the larger iCadenza strategy conversation

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Background in music/degree in music
  • Deep familiarity with industry trends and topics in music career paths
  • Experience working within a university, teaching or advising on music entrepreneurship and career development
  • Experience being a project manager and/or managing others is preferred
  • Tech savvy, experience with digital products management, WordPress, Microsoft Word, Excel, Google suite of online apps, and/or ability to learn and utilize web-based software quickly
  • Entrepreneurial attitude and growth mindset
  • Visionary and creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized and self-directed
  • Natural ability to work with grace in a fast-paced environment
  • Impeccable project and time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Natural leader with managerial skills to foster a healthy team environment
  • Can take big picture ideas and create systems/procedures for implementing ideas
  • Alignment with iCadenza’s artist-centered approach
  • Love and dedication to the performing arts

Compensation:  Commensurate with experience

Location:  iCadenza headquarters are in Los Angeles, CA. However the entire team is remote-based, work from anywhere.

Status: Full-time

Hours: Hours somewhat flexible, but this position must be available to work general business hours in the US (9am-6pm in either EST, CST, MT, or PST).  Also must be willing to check email and text messages on a regular basis, including on weekends, to address any urgent matters that might arise.
