Livingston Sweet Potato FestivalCommunity
The Livingston Sweet Potato Festival is a family oriented event hosted by the City of Livingston to celebrate the annual sweet Potato Harvest. This is a free event open to the public and is enjoyed by an estimated 10,000 visitors. This event is held in September during harvest at the Max Foster Sports Complex , 2600 Walnut Avenue in Livingston. The event offers a Carnival which runds during the festival and also acts as a fund raiser to help offset the costs of the Festival. Vendors that participate include food, novelty items, face painting and hand made items to name a few., Volunteer service organizations offer informational booths. The Police and Fire Departments offer vehicle displays and fire hose showers. There will even be a Kid Zone for our younger patrons. Sweet potatoes are sold along with favorite sweet potato dishes. Local growers will provide an educational area on Sweet Potatoes. Sweet potato baking contests as well as sweet potato tossing and dressing will occur. A variety of music is ongoing during the event .
