California Student Wins Google's National Doodle Contest
Seven-year-old Matteo Lopez of Monte Verde Elementary School in South San Francisco won Google's National Doodle Contest. His entry, Space Life, reflects his personal goals of becoming an astronaut and exploring space life. He wants to wear a space suit, fly in space, walk on the moon and make friends with aliens in other planets.
California Nonprofits Lose Tax-exempt Status by Not Filing with IRS
Thousands of California nonprofit organizations have recently lost their nonprofit status by not filing the proper paperwork with the federal Internal Revenue Service (IRS), according to an official statement from the IRS. Many are defunct organizations, but groups still in operation may be able to get their status reinstated.
